I’m goofing things up chronologically, but I (Kim) just cannot keep up with life. And, I really want to share some of the things we did while we were in Wet More, Michigan where we visited with Rob’s Dad and Kathy for a couple days. They live in a beautiful log home on a sweet little lake in the middle of the Hiawatha National Forest. While we were there we visited Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Lake Superior. It was so beautiful. We enjoyed our time there very much. The south shore of Lake Superior has some amazing sand beaches and crystal clear water the color of the Caribbean. It’s stunning.
While we were at Bob and Kathy’s we enjoyed the lake very much. Every day we were there we were on the lake. Rob and Paisley did some paddling up a little river that flows out of the lake and eventually ends up emptying into Lake Michigan. Needless to say they weren’t able to get that far.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos of Bob and I fishing. It was so incredibly relaxing and the weather was perfect. I didn’t catch anything on any of our outings, but Bob caught three Northern Pike. That was fun and exciting. One of them was at least 30 inches.
Bob and Kathy definitely have a tiny piece of heaven right outside their back door. We are glad to have had the opportunity to spend time with Bob and Kathy. We had fun. Thank you for all you did for us during our stay.
It’s been so fun to read about your travels so far. Maybe your time on the lakes can make up for missing Jordan Lake Boating camp this year. 😉
I’m not sure Olivia would agree. The Lakes were pretty darn cold. She didn’t actually swim in any of them and sweet Riley was not with her. 🙁 But, she saw some people paddle boarding and it made her think of her camp experience on Jordan Lake.
We so enjoyed our time with the 4 of you ! Sweet memories. Hope all went well with your van and have a safe and happy trip! Love, Kathy
Had a great time. Kim proved an apt pupil. Within minutes she entered the realm of ‘pro caster’. I think she may have exaggerated the length of the fish. (Not by much though). The whole family managed to weather the mosquito onslaught. Will miss all of you terribly. Have a blast on your way to Alaska. Keep up the blogs, they brighten our day. Love, Bob.
July 7th and no recent posts – what do you guys think this is…a vacation?
Missing you already but eager to catch up on your travels.
