Wow!!! We have less than a week left in our home. One moment I feel great about the progress we’ve made… and the next, I’m overwhelmed by all that we have left to do…. Meanwhile, we are continuing to live and enjoy life here in North Carolina. Yesterday Olivia had a few good friends over for a sleepover. I think they had a great time. I made caramel rolls for breakfast and then promptly washed up all the dishes and began packing up the kitchen. It’s paper plates and plastic cutlery until we move into the RV. Yep, we found one!!! Whew! Rob intends to tell you all about it in his post, so I’ll not say anything more. The end of the school year is always an incredibly busy and super fun time. Paisley had to play in the band for the Senior Awards night at Cedar Ridge this last week along with taking a couple final exams, and Olivia had to finish up EOG’s (End of Grade Testing).
We haven’t found a home in Anchorage yet and for some reason, I’m not bothered by that at all. That’s not usually like me. I think it’s because I’m confident we will find something we are excited about when the timing is right and we are ready. Rob is more concerned than I am – a reversal of our typical roles. We did put an offer in on a house, but it ended up not working out – both parties were steadfast on their limits and in the end, we determined we will find something we are equally excited about and this house wasn’t meant to be and we are all really okay with that.
This was a lovely break from packing, but I’ve got to get back to it. We’ll be back in touch again soon.

Love you, Kim
Wow! You have your habpnds full!!! I loved the dance pictures and was reliving our 44 year old daughter’s recital. Now it is her 8 year old’s turn. Going cross country in an RV has always been a dream of mine, but will stay a dream at this point I our life’s. Do so enjoy every minute.
Yes, you will find a house and it will be the right one!
Thank you for setting up this blog – now we can keep in touch. Seattle may be in our Christmas plans.
God be with you, Mary Joy. (MJ)
Hello Mary Joy!
Oh, It is so nice to see your name MJ and to think of you with such fond memories at RMH. I’m so glad you found our blog. We are having a great deal of fun with it AND on our adventures so far. Getting out of the house was a great deal of work, but we did it and now we all have more time on our hands now that school is out too, so it will be easier to post every day. Please live vicariously through us. It is possible at this time that the dream is more romantic than the reality. 🙂 But, we are enjoying ourselves so far. Thank you for your reassurance on finding the right house. It’s been really easy to not worry about that so far because we have had so much else on our plates. I’m afraid as we get closer to AK, having a solid destination will feel a lot better, but for now, it’s all good! I definitely want to continue to keep in touch. Thank you for this comment. I’ve never been to Seattle but have heard such great things about it and it would be AMAZING if we were able to coordinate time there to say hello and meet for a cup of coffee. Thank you for well wishes! Peace, Kim
Our house looks just like your house!! Van comes tomorrow and we are ready to get back home – to the UP from whence I came. After 40 years away, it’ll be wonderfully familiar and yet different.
Some smart person once said something like “Chaos is the law of nature. Order is only the dream of man”
That is a great quote. thank you for sharing. Order is incredibly difficult to maintain. Thank you for a lovely dinner yesterday. Olivia cried the rest of the evening and asked just before falling asleep when she’d see Riley again. I said I hoped next summer.
